Message I got my Z back on Tuesday after a motor pull to install MS manifolds, turbos, and a full 3" exhaust.

At first, the car sounded fine. I noticed either an agitated lifter tick, or something new but I totally chalked it up as just not hearing my lifter tick in 2 months.

I took the car out on the loop and broke it in about 100 miles. Then I did my first pull at WOT and it was amazing. Spooled at 3 or 3500 and I let off around 5k, maybe 6, and I hit 1.31 bar. Took it home and parked it.

Next day I decide to change my fluids and such and I once again notice a strange ticking that just didn't seem familiar from the lifter tick on all my other Z's, I put about 5 miles on the car driving it to make sure everythin was in working order, didn't boost it hard at all really, and took it home and parked it.

So yesterday was going to be my day to really drive it around and tune my AVCR for the new setup. I let it warm up then within minutes of driving it I heard what I assumed was an exhaust leak, and it sounded like it was near the turbo or manifold on the driver side. I assumed it was an exhaust leak because I could clearly hear the turbo spooling, as if I had cutouts or dumps, which I have had on a z before. Just to check it gave it abput 90 percent throttle and it didn't spool near as fast as the first day and it didn't spool till like 4750... so no more boosting.

So I took it to my buddy who is an oilfield / deisel mechanic and he listened to it and said, yeah, definitely an exhaust leak, and its definitely the manifold, because the way it was ticking, he said it was everytime that cylinder was firing.

So that is almost a for sure deal.

Now here comes problem #2. He wanted me to drive him around the block and see how it runs and if anythin else is wrong. He told me to boost it but not floor it, and when I did, and let off, white smoke came from both tailpipes. We pulled over, revved it, and it clears the smoke.

I believe the turbos are still fine and I believe the egnine is still fine.

So my questions are, 1) how did me exhaust manifold just start to leak and get worse and worse after only 100 miles and only 2 or 3 boosting situations. Gasket, loose bolts, faulty manifolds?

I man what have you seen or heard of with an exhaust manifold leaking in 100 miles going from no leak or barely a leak, to a large leak.

Remember the car boosted 1.31 bar easily the first night, didn't even boost 1 bar yesterday.

Secondly, as far as the white smoke, like I said I think the engine and turbos are sound, but the smoke comes from both tailpipes when I let off from boosting. I put my AVCR in graph mode on the way home and every single line stayed steady so vacuum and revs looked fine.

My buddy thinks oil is dumping into the intake side of the turbo or that some oil line or something is busted, broken, unclamped...

These damn Zs, why do I love them so much???

Thanks in advance for what I know will be great input. If I left out details or anythin I'm sorry I was typing all this on my phone
